Handwriting conversion

  1. Using the lasso tool, select the section you want to convert.
  2. Tap the middle of the selection to bring a popup menu > Convert.
  3. To convert handwriting select Text.
  4. Your Conversion Preview opens on a popup window where you can edit the text with LaTex (if there are any errors).
  5. At the bottom left corner of the conversion you can change the Language.
  6. You can Convert Selection to replace the handwritten section with the converted text.
  7. Copy Text to Clipboard to paste the text in another app. This does not convert your handwriting.

In Notability, your conversions retain the same size and colour as your handwriting. The app puts your converted text in a textbox.

Math conversion

  1. Using the lasso tool, select the section you want to convert.
  2. Tap the middle of the selection to bring a popup menu > Convert.
  3. To convert handwriting select Math.
  4. If there are any errors in the conversion, tap it with your finger > Edit.
  5. Notability supports LaTex code for math equations that you can edit.

The math conversion in Notability creates a vector image that behaves like images in the app. Style lets you change the colour of the conversion.
